Avaya Engineer to perform day-to-day requests at client sites dealing with Avaya IP Phones, installation & implementations of applications and systems, poor voice quality, name changes, etc.
Seeking technical engineer level experienced with the following Avaya product specifics:
Candidate will travel to client locations throughout the Greater Bay Area (SF, Fremont, San Jose, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Santa Rosa) and provide installs, implementation, and service needs affecting the client. Candidate must have stellar communication (written and oral) skills to interface effectively and be understood by the customer. Must take initiative and cannot be afraid to be challenged or be outside of comfort level. MUST speak the language and understand what the customer needs are. Must have the ability to think outside the box. Seeking a personable candidate with the ability to convey message to clients and communicate effectively.
POSITION SUMMARY: \" Installation, Configuration and Operation of Avaya IP Connect Media Servers (IP PBX), Traditional TDM PBX and PSTN Interconnectivity. Basic knowledge in IP Telephony and Internetworking devices. A minimum of one year formal education in Telecommunications, Computer science, Information Technology (IT) or equivalent in trade. Must be computer literate and has potential understanding of ISO Model and TCP/IP suite. Computer hardware and software, Operating Systems and peripheral equipment hands-on experience is desirable.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \" Ability to understand and interpret Avaya Installation and Upgrade documentation and Best Practices. \" Perform new hardware installation of Avaya IP Connect Media Server and Media Gateways including upgrades and migration. \" Administer Avaya Communication Manger (CM) features and system parameters. \" Implement and turn-up ISDN-PRI trunks with the Service Provider or Telco. \" Operation, Maintenance and Support of existing customer\'s equipment with or without maintenance agreement. \" Remote administration and troubleshooting of existing customer\'s equipment with or without maintenance agreement. \" Attend on-premise call out. \" Ability to have potential basic knowledge of Avaya\'s Enterprise Survivable Server (ESS), Local Survivable Processor (LSP) and Session Initiated protocol (SIP) installation and operations. \" Perform software and firmware upgrade. \" Work with other Technicians to attain successful cutover.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/TRAINING: \" Telecommunication Diploma or equivalent. \" Avaya Certification – ACE, ACS, etc. preferred.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: \" Minimum of 5 years experience in Telecommunication field and/or equivalent. Avaya S87XX, CM, SIP. Previous experience supporting large user base is highly preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: \" Ability to travel as needed to support business initiatives (minimal).
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS: \" Ability to work after hour and weekend as needed.
